 The Referral Issue

Dear #FirstName#

Refer a friend and feed a nation

Selected Energy’s referral programme not only benefits existing Solahart customers, but also underprivileged communities. In association with Food and Trees for Africa (FTFA), Selected Energy offers its customers the option of donating ten trees towards disadvantaged communities with each Solahart unit sold through a referral.

15 fruit trees were donated to the Eggbert Initiative in Boksburg, Gauteng. With the help of the community, FTFA planted the trees while explaining the environmental benefits to the community.

Through its association with FTFA, Selected Energy hopes to establish a culture of environmental responsibility.

The Selected Energy Solahart referral programme is open to SA residents who own a Solahart system. Any referral from a current customer that results in a sale qualifies for a referral incentive. Apart from the Food & Trees for Africa donation customers can choose Weber braais, Cellini luggage and solar lamps. Click here for more information or to register a referral.

 Solahart can withstand nature’s forces

Many South African consumers are reluctant to invest in a solar water geyser for fear of hail damage. South African hailstorms often destroy crops, vehicles and buildings. Repairing hail damage on a solar water heater is expensive and inconvenient.

Solahart solar geysers have been engineered to withstand even the most severe hailstorms. Because Solahart solar water heaters are roof-mounted, the systems are vulnerable to anything nature can conjure up.

The glass on the panels on Solahart solar water heaters is manufactured from low iron anti-tempered glass. The lower iron levels ensure that the solar panels are virtually indestructible. The glass panels on Solahart solar water heaters carry a 10-year warranty.

Lower iron levels also ensure that glass shatters into smaller pieces, should damage occur. This reduces the risk of injury, should the glass break and fall to the ground.

The system pictured below survived a severe hailstorm with no damage aside from a few dents in the tank.

Eskom first electricity tariff increase

The first of three electricity tariff increases that took effect on 1 April 2010 was no April fool's joke.

The National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA) approved three tariff increases at the start of 2010. The first increase was implemented on 1 April this year. The second increase can be expected in 2011 and last increase in 2012.

The first increase of 24.8% will make the average Eskom electricity price for post paid meters 41.31c per kWh

Homeowners won't be the only ones breaking the bank to foot the electricity bill. Manufacturers and the entire supply chain will also pay more, which will be indirectly passed down to the consumer.
